Description of Child Playhouse:

The elevated floor and walls (with rifle slots) complete the fort feeling. It is easy to add on to this design with an overhead tarp, door access, flag pole, or tons secret compartments for all the nooks and crannies. Just let your imagination guide you. Painting non-treated wood is recommended but not required as it will age to a rustic finish.

This outpost is on stilts and the floor is almost three feet above the ground. The play area is six feet square in plan and there is an elevated (2 feet above the wall line) central tower where one of the little guys can keep watch. The plans call for cement footings to be set in the ground thus providing maximum stability.

Complete outpost plans include foundation plan, floor framing plan, elevations, sections, details, material list with quantities, and plenty of construction notes and dimensions. The plans can be given to a contractor to build or a individual with average building experience can build it themselves.

Note: not every step is detailed. The builder will have to apply some intuition in resolving differences in material requirements according to local availability as well as cutting, drilling, and otherwise preparing the lumber or materials.
